Itinerary

Day 1 - ARRIVAL AT THESSALONIKI

Upon arrival at Thessaloniki SKG International Airport, a private bus will transfer you to your hotel, where you can take a short break from the journey or leave your luggage and start exploring the city. In the early afternoon a licensed guide will accompany you on a short city tour (3 hours). You will walk through the historic part of the city and enjoy the unique combination of periods, from ancient Greek to Roman and Ottoman, and have the opportunity to explore the flavors of the city at the Kapani food market. After the walking tour, your tasting journey will resume with a welcome meze dinner at a local tavern.

Day 2: THESSALONIKI TO LITOCHORO, HIKE TO KOROMILIA REFUGE

Start with a drive from Thessaloniki to Litochoro, the gateway to Mount Olympus. Begin your hike in Litochoro, ascending to Stauros Refuge for a brief rest, then continue to Koromilia Refuge. This route offers a mix of forest trails and open meadows, providing a full immersion into the mountain's natural beauty. End the day at Koromilia Refuge, where you can relax and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 3: KOROMILIA REFUGE TO APOSTOLIDIS REFUGE

We begin the day walking from Koromilia Refuge and head towards Petrostrouga Refuge, traversing through lush forest terrain. After a short break we start the ascend to Skourta Peak, where the views start to open up significantly. We continue our hike by crossing the breathtaking Laimos Ridge, where panoramic vistas of Mount Olympus unfold before we reachi the mythical Muses Plateau with stunning views to the dramatic Stefani rock formation, known also as the Zeus Throne, and the Mytikas peak, the highest summit in Greece (2918m). The day's final stop is at Apostolidis Refuge, positioned to offer views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 4: APOSTOLIDIS REFUGE TO AGAPITOS REFUGE via SKOLIO SUMMIT

Set off from Apostolidis Refuge and embark on a challenging ascent to Skolio Peak, the second highest point on Mount Olympus at 2905 meters. The climb offers invigorating exercise and spectacular views of the Greek landscape stretching beneath you. After conquering Skolio, begin your descent towards Agapitos Refuge. This portion of the hike takes you through varied terrain, from rocky outcrops to alpine meadows, providing a full spectrum of Olympus’ natural beauty. Conclude your day at Agapitos Refuge, a perfect place to rest and reflect on the achievements of the day while enjoying the serene mountain environment.

Day 5: AGAPITOS REFUGE TO LITOCHORO via ENIPEAS GORGE

Begin your descent from Agapitos Refuge, winding down through the scenic Enipeas Gorge, a lush area with flowing streams and diverse flora. Pause to explore the serene Saint Dionysius Monastery, set amidst the natural tranquility. Continue through the cooling forests that lead to Litochoro, where your trail ends. From here, a bus will take you back to Thessaloniki, providing a comfortable journey to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and landscapes encountered on Mount Olympus.
