Day 1: LITOCHORO TO MPOUNTOLAS REFUGE

Begin your self-guided adventure in Litochoro, situated at the base of Mount Olympus. From here, follow the well-marked trails leading up through lush forests and alongside the Enipeas Gorge. The path gradually ascends, offering periodic views of the gorge below and the peaks above. This initial hike is a moderate climb, designed to ease you into the rigors of Olympus hiking. Your destination for the day is Stauros Refuge, a welcoming spot perched on the mountainside, ideal for resting and preparing for the days ahead. Along the way, make sure to carry enough water, and utilize your map or GPS for navigation, especially at trail junctions.

Day 2: MPOUNTOLAS REFUGE TO KOROMILIA REFUGE

Depart from Stauros Refuge after a refreshing night's rest and continue your journey deeper into Mount Olympus. The trail today shifts from the steep inclines of the previous day to more varied terrain. As you trek, enjoy the enchanting views of the surrounding peaks and the dense forests that characterize this section of the mountain. The path takes you through serene, natural settings that are quintessential to the Olympus experience, offering both challenge and reward. Upon arriving at Koromilia Refuge, you'll find a tranquil haven where you can relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountain environment. This refuge provides a perfect spot to reflect on the day's journey and recharge for the adventures that lie ahead. Ensure you have your trail maps updated, as mobile reception can be spotty, and always keep an eye out for trail markers to stay on the correct path.

Day 3: KOROMILIA REFUGE TO PETROSTROUGA REFUGE

Today’s hike takes you higher into the heart of the mountain, following a well-marked trail that winds through lush pine and beech forests. As you ascend, the landscape transforms, offering stunning views of the rugged peaks and the expansive Aegean coastline in the distance. Along the way, you'll pass through clearings that provide perfect spots for rest and reflection. The trail culminates at the Petrostrougga Refuge, perched at an altitude of 1,940 meters. Day 4: PETROSTROUGA REFUGE TO APOSTOLISDIS REFUGE

Today, the journey takes you deeper into the heart of Mount Olympus, with breathtaking scenery unfolding at every step. Departing from Petrostrougga Refuge, the trail steadily climbs into alpine terrain, where forests give way to rocky landscapes and rugged peaks. As you approach the higher elevations, you’ll be captivated by panoramic views of Olympus’s famed summits, including the iconic Mytikas and Stefani, known as Zeus’s Throne. The air grows thinner, and the atmosphere feels more mystical as you near Apostolidis Refuge, situated at 2,697 meters. This mountain hut offers a front-row seat to some of Olympus’s most dramatic scenery, making it the perfect place to rest and prepare for the next day's adventure.

Day 6: AGAPITOS REFUGE TO LITOCHORO
